Los Angeles, July 20: Microsoft Corp on Thursday reported its first quarterly loss in its 26 years as a public company due to an accounting adjustment to reflect a weak online ad business.

The company posted a net loss of USD 492 million, or 6 cents per share, for its fiscal fourth quarter, compared with a profit of USD 5.87 billion, or 69 cents per share, in the year-ago quarter.
